Computers In Homes is the brainchild of the 2020 Communications Trust, which aims to provide access to ICT and the Internet to all families in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Computers in Homes projects have been working in partnership with refugee communities in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Palmerston North, Christchurch, Nelson and Porirua and provided 220 families from Somalian, Sudanese, Afghani, Iraqi, Ethiopian, Congolese, Burmese and Chinese communities with a recycled computer, training, 12 months internet, translators and technical support for the families. MoE has even arranged transport and babysitting to ensure parents could attend.
